A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare

As the Sound Designer and Composer, I strived to create a fully immersive space that allows the audience to get lost in the show they are watching, while simultaneously helping support the performance by writing and composing original House/EDM music. Working with the director, I created several pieces of House/EDM music that related to specific characters and played during their entrances, such as Oberon and Titania, to highlight that they were other-worldly and powerful, and also using elements of those pieces to create accent effects to highlight their powers . I also created a 15-minute DJ set for intermission music, that helped to “continue the party” through intermission for the audience. In addition to all the music created, I created unique environmental soundscapes to help anchor the action onstage to each location we were in as the play progressed. Finally, I created a House/EDM twist on a Shakespearean jig that the cast danced along to at the end of the production.
